Berea Municipal Court Marriage Records

A marriage record proves the existence and validity of a marriage. The creation of a marriage record follows a three-step process. Firstly, the intending couple applies for a marriage license with the Cuyahoga County Probate Court. After obtaining the license, the couple then solemnizes the union within 60 days. Once the ceremony is over, the marriage license is returned to the Probate Court for recording. The recorded license forms the official marriage record.

Marriage records are public files; thus, anyone can search for marriage records via the Cuyahoga County Probate Court Docket and Index Search Portal. Copies can also be purchased by visiting the Cuyahoga County courthouse or sending a mail request. The cost for a marriage certificate is $2.

Note that the Berea Municipal Court holds no jurisdiction to issue marriage licenses.
